Welcome to Renewal
We believe that there are two patterns of thinking: one of the world and one of God.
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.”
There is a moral wasteland of media stretching out before us and it's our challenge to cultivate beauty and truth. Ultimately, we seek to participate in the Divine renewing of minds. Our approach is to provide access to living ideas - literature, media, enrichment, and community that stimulate people’s desire for knowledge of the One True God, by using content saturated in what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy.
Our Methods
We will be using two primary methods to accomplish our vision: Storytelling and Storylending.
Storytelling
Storytelling is at the heart of Renewal. Our dream is to help people experience stories in new ways or meet a story for the first time. Whether through the written word, audio productions, artwork or film we will help craft and share original works, bring classics to life and create content that sparks wonder and conversation.
Storylending
It is our goal to create a physical space that helps foster renewal. This space will include a living books library and community area. Patrons of this space can come and explore our collection and borrow materials for their own growth and encouragement or to aid in educating others. The Library will ultimately be a hub where people can gather to share life, ideas and experiences.
Our Values
-
The ultimate story is God's Word. We seek to base everything we do on the truth found in His Word.
“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:14-17
-
We want our resources to be a blessing. As far as we are able we will make the content we create available without any barriers.
-
We are creating for God’s kingdom and glory and we want our content to reflect that by never taking shortcuts.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24
-
The stories we tell are not about forcing morals; they are about nurturing moral imagination and allowing truth to speak for itself.
